It’s crazy to think how time flies, but it’s also crazy exciting to see that even six months into the year, Bangkok is still playing host to many a cool event for us to attend and enjoy. This month sees a lot of wholesome and holistic activities from World Environment Day to Wellness Day, over to (as always) a number of really great parties. From plate smashing to macaron making, here’s what to do in Bangkok this June 1-15.
Did you know that 5 June is World Environment Day? Inviting visitors to celebrate our world and the environment we live in, head to Central Embassy’s beautiful Open House space to explore a variety of organic and natural products from over 20 eco-vendors. There’ll also be Green Concept workshops and an Open Talk so you can learn how to honour, protect and care for the planet we call home.
Silom’s favourite Greek restaurant is turning one year old this month, and is celebrating in true form and style with an epic big fat Greek party. The neighbourhood’s most beloved Mediterranean joint will be serving free drinks from 5-7pm and discounted food and alcohol from after 7pm. Proving that Thai rap and hip hop artists are sure to slowly take over the region with their beats, Heavy Organizer and U Beer are hosting the 2019 edition of the Thailand Hip Hop festival this month, with an incredible lineup to suit. Hip hop fans will get to see performances by everyone from Twopee Southside, Fucking Hero, Rastafa and D Gerrard and more, from 2pm long into midnight at JJ Mall Hall.
Joining forces with the city’s beloved Bangkok Screening Room, cool cat epicentre Siri House is debuting its monthly film screening event this month, with a grand number to start with. Showing ‘The Gospel According to André’ at The House Cinema, follow the soul-stirring life story of fashion journalist André Leon Talley, once editor-at-large at Vogue magazine. Between cocktails and post-screening discussions, come for an inspired evening, and stay for the snazzy vibes.
