From Christmas meals, theatre, Christmas markets and New Year’s Eve antics, there’s one thing that’s for sure: your electronic diary will be flashing constant reminders of what to do, where to go and who to see. The merry market at K Village returns for the Christmas period, bringing joy, fun and over 150 stalls selling items and food to ring in the holiday spirit. This is the perfect opportunity for all those last-minute gifts you’ll need to buy. There will also be mini concerts throughout the four-day period, with bands such as Mean Band, Ink Waruntorn, Attention Pease Band, Rhythm Nation Band and more taking part.
Start Christmas a day early at the Park Hyatt with a merry afternoon tea at the Living Room. In this festive high tea edition, savour all the sweet desserts you can make room for, as well as delicious savoury bites prepared by Kevin, the Park Hyatt’s pastry chef, alongside his team. Make it even merrier with the free-flow champagne and boutique wines that will also be on offer. From 2-5pm.
Bored of the usual Christmas lunch at grandma’s? Switch it up a bit this year with a good old fashioned brunch, Siam Kempinski style, except this one is specifically dedicated to Christmas, at Brasserie Europa. Bring your family or friends to indulge in a festive feast, with an international buffet and all the European Christmas favourites such as Australian roasted lamb cutlet, pan-fried duck breast, roasted turkey and crusted beef sirloin. It’s Christmas so why not. From 12:30-4pm.
If you don’t already know, Jesus Christ Superstar went down in history as the first “rock opera” of all time with the very first 1971 show establishing Andrew Lloyd Weber’s phenomenal reputation as a musical theatre genius. And Opera Siam opens its 18th season with a spellbinding production that will no doubt give you goosebumps. The symphony orchestra version of this musical will be enhanced by a full ensemble of actors, singers and dramatically staged to recreate the period of circa 100 A.D. Expect key performances from Pure ‘The Voice’ Ekkapan, Chaiporn ‘Pop’ and popular jazz songstress Athalie de Koning.
The monthly wine tasting encounters continue at The Glaz Bar continues, where guests will be privy to some of the most deliciously exciting wines of the world. Wine and cheese do make for a good combo and luckily, you’ll be able to sample special selections of wines paired together with a lovely selection of not only artisan cheese, but also charcuteries.
Welcome the new year of 2019 with The Peninsula Bangkok’s 1920s-themed event, surrounded by a roaring twenties-style setting. Don’t shy away from wearing outfits reflective of the famous era. The dinner features a wide selection of international cuisine, including live cooking stations, live carving station and a seafood on ice station. The highlight, however, will be the spectacular midnight fireworks display that will take place above and along the Chao Phraya River from the hotel’s riverside down to Lhong 1919.
