There is something about Christmas market festivals that instantly fill the air with merriment and joy. After all, there is nothing more likely to get you in the mood for the festive season like an outdoor Christmas market, right?
Sansiri PLC is back this year with the 7th edition of ‘Winter Markets Fest – What A Wonderful World’ from 14-15 December 2019, to take over the 15-rai organic vegetable and fruit garden in town to turn it into a wonderland for us. Under the inspiration of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World, expect to be dazzled here at Sansiri Backyard T77 Community under the breezy festive lights. Their “7 Wonders” will include celebrity-owned stores, scrumptious street food, clothing stalls, upbeat concerts, and an exciting parade led by none other than Santa Claus. It’s the perfect way to spend some quality time with your friends and family at the hippest Christmas market in town. Mulled wine, Christmas jingles, and holiday-inspired foods, and gifts for your loved ones. Christmas, here we come.
Christmas gift shopping
The festive season is always the best excuse to go on a shopping spree. Whilst there will over 170 popular shops, keep an eye for special celebrity shops, such as ERO Kcal by “Kalamare”, Khanung by “Rotmay” Khanungnij, Sushi Shin by “Boy” Pakorn, Dek Thay and Never Say Cutz by “Way” Thaitanium and 2MANYUGLYCLOTHES by Ploy Horwang. Fashion-conscious individuals should definitely swing by the trendy and edge clothing stores like NYYY design, Papers, Everyday Apparels, Cosmos B., Standard Archives, Before Mondays, and HOJ, too. Find yourself a festive outfit for your Christmas party or grab some sweet treats for secret Santa.
Feast game: strong
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without some mouth-watering dishes and Christmas-y delicacies. Dig into some of the best street foods in town — Sala Daeng Fried Seafood, Heng Hoi Tod Fried Oyster, Ko Boo spicy noodle, Phraram 5 Pork Neck, and Talad Plu Fried Chives Dumplings, to name a few. You’ll also get a chance to savour bites from some of your favourite restaurants, like Vivarium, Brix Desserts, QQ Desserts, Ros Dee-Ded, and Midnight A Cocoa.
Festive mood moves
Music is always the key to satisfying your festive soul. The celebration would be incomplete without humming to those beats. Get ready to hear some soulful music by some of the most popular artists — Ink Waruntorn, Phum Viphurit, Noi Pru, the legendary Pause Band, and the amazing Gene Kasidit.
Go Green or Go Home
It is the first time Sansiri is opening its door to the Sansiri Backyard T77 Community — a huge vegetable and fruit garden on a 15-rai piece of land. Under a concept of Greenovation, it features My Backyard Farm & Café restaurant with a healthy signature menu, as well as fun activities like “Self-Harvest” to pick fresh vegetables to cook. Fancy melon painting? Adventurous souls, gear up for the Farm and Craft Workshop in Sansiri style while the little ones can dress-up in the veggie and fruit costumes.
Sansiri puts out a great initiative to reduce waste by reusing materials and focusing on waste separation for a cleaner community. Whilst you may want to pick up your own veggies at their organic vegetable and fruit garden for yourselves, you could also request the chefs at the stalls to use these to cook you some exotic dishes to savour. Also, do hop by the Eco-Green Shop to do your bit for the environment. From Rubber Killer and ftttbkk (From Trash to Treasure), to Eco.llective, there are many options available to hunt down handcrafted gifts that are not only unique but eco-friendly too.
Join the Wonderful Community to participate in a “Green Mission” because reducing waste such as vinyl or 100-percent biodegradable packaging can do so much than we think. Don’t know where to start? Don’t fret: Wonder Garbage Redeem Cart is there to fill you in with all the details and outlooks of waste separation. You’ve got this.
Did we say Thailand’s leading drag queen will be there? Oh yes, Zepee, Kandy Zyanide, and Angele Anang will be hitting the stage this weekend. Whilst on Saturday 14th the concert will kick off with the hit tunes of Phum Viphurit and Ink Warunthorn, on Sunday 15th, Gene Kasidit will entertain us with our all-time favourite playlist.
We also love the 4-meter-high Christmas jukebox that is sure to lift up all of our spirits. They also happen to be very instagrammable, so have your phones ready to snap your way through.
