A Feast for the Senses: Le Petit Chef
When: 12 July–13 September, every Friday to Sunday
Price: MOP688 for six course dinner per adult, MOP388 per child aged 6–11.
One of the most talked about multi-sensory culinary experiences to emerge in recent years is none other than Le Petit Chef, now a traveling global phenomenon that brings a tiny animated chef to your plate. Combining rich 3D visuals and an endearing storyline, Le Petit Chef takes you through multiple courses inspired by the exploration of Marco Polo as he ventures through the Silk Road.
Le Petit Chef traverses halfway across the globe, beginning with a French seafood starter; followed by a tagine course filled with tastebud-tickling Arabian spices and an Indian curry dish; heading all the way up to the snowy climes of the Himalayas for a palate refresher; then Ancient China for mysterious mains, all before returning to Le Petit Chef’s homeland for a classic French dessert. The six-course menu is available for lunch only on weekends and dinner every Friday to Sunday.

For an authentic taste of Thailand without needing to hop on a plane, Banyan Tree Macau’s Saffron offers two new menus cooked up by head chef Monnipa Rungthong — the only Thai female chef in the whole SAR. The new a la carte menu now spotlights Southern Thai cuisine; typically packing more heat, spices and colour, the dishes boast ingredients flown in from The Land of Smiles, including fresh turmeric, Thai small garlic and twisted cluster beans.
Try the Gaeng Kati Poo Alaska (MOP308), a piquant yellow curry with succulent king crab, spooned over rice vermicelli noodles to soak up the flavours. If you’re around for lunch, be sure to dig into Saffron’s Thai Tiffin Lunch, which starts with a bowl of fresh soup and a Chef’s daily starter before you open up and explore the three-tiered lunch box.
