This festive season, the doyenne of Kristang cuisine Chef Melba Nunis will be hosting her Kristang Family Christmas supper club featuring classic dishes served only during the festivities like Teem (chestnut soup), Mama Mercy’s Roasted Chicken, Stuffed Pickled Green Chillies and her signature Christmas dessert platter. There are also traditional brandied fruit cakes and sugee cakes that are perfect for gifts or sharing. Otherwise, you can always takeaway the Beef Kari Seccu, Chicken Macaroni Pie and Smoked Bacon Bacon Devil for potluck dinners or open houses.
As part of its listing in Marriott International’s Top 52 Restaurants and Bars by Marriott Bonvoy, Astor Bar at The St. Regis KL is presenting a special immersive guest experience centring mixology and gastronomy. Astor Bar Presents: Past, Present & Possibilities takes you on the storied legacy of the hotel with crafted cocktails that celebrate each and every moment in history. In the Past, Astor Bar pays homage to vintage cocktails from the Rat Pack era including the Rat Pack Rusty Nail, Old Above and Harvard Jazz. In the Present, you can indulge in The St. Regis KL’s signature Bloody Mary made using local asam boi, chilli padi and Sarawak pepper, as well as The Astrid, a novelty not to be missed. One can also partake in cocktail-making at the bar. Over to the Possibilities section, you will definitely want to try the special ‘clarified Bloody Mary’ made using gin instead of vodka.
Scotch whisky brand, Dewar’s is bringing D15 night series to Concubine KL with a special masterclass and tasting at the newly opened Concubine KL. This time, the makers of the exquisite double-aged Scotch whisky are bringing over Jonas Ax, Bacardi’s Brand Ambassador for a very special guest shift. There will also be free flow of Dewar’s 15 highballs but early RSVP is required.
Small batch producers and artisans come together at Entier Farmers Market happening on the 8th December 2019 at Alila Bangsar. Meet Fukuoka-native Chef Masashi Horiuchi as he walks you through his favourite local purveyors selling everything from organic vegetables, farm and fresh produce, boutique wines, specialty coffee, gourmet goods, artisanal homeware, crafts and more. It is also a good time for you to stock up for Christmas and even get your gifting list checked.
If you’re not aware, Gerai Tai Tai made its debut at this year’s Venice Biennale and for one night only, it will be parked at the new Wildflowers for an immersive fortune-telling food experience. With the pop-up, Wildflowers will also be curating a special cocktail at RM50 per person, which includes a free fortune reading session.

Ushi Restaurant collaborates with one Michelin-starred Kinobu for a special Kaiseki Omakase Menu. Curated by Master Chef Takuji Takahashi, diners will be experiencing the exotic umami flavours in the nine-course Japanese fine dining menu infused with seasonal ingredients like red tilefish (amadai), shrimp-shaped taro (ebi-imo), male crab (kani) and dried mullet roe (karasumi). Kyoto-style cooking will be championed to take diners into the seasonal produce during winter.
