Swiss luxury watchmaker Zenith is known for manufacturing luxury timepieces while being one of the few to still produce its own watch movements in-house. Zenith is also famous for its most iconic timepiece, the Chronomaster El Primero and this time around it will be making a return.

The contrasting red second hand was inspired by a vintage chronograph case

Zenith will be collaborating with the Bamford Watch Department (BWD) in introducing a limited-edition Chronomaster El Primero watch. To keep to its exclusivity, the Chronomaster El Primero will only be available in a “solar blue” colourway, based off the Zenith Heritage 146 model.

The watch also comes with a tachymeter, inspired by the 1971 El Primero. The Chronomaster El Primero will be in a 38mm stainless steel case with a blue dial as well as a blue Alcantara strap with white stitching. Zenith’s partnership with BWD started off in June last year as the official customiser of Zenith watches and the Chronomaster El Primero will be the first of many limited-edition collaborations.

The back of the Chronomaster El Primero features a skeletal back

There are only 25 of the watches obtainable and each will be numbered. To keep track of its limited release, the watch will be available exclusively on the luxury menswear online retail destination, MR PORTER. What makes Zenith special in MR PORTER’s eyes? — It is the first Swiss-made watch to be featured on the retail site back in 2015.

How the Chronomaster El Primero looks like on the wrist

The Chronomaster El Primero retails at $7,500 and will be launched on 15 November. If you’re interested in purchasing this limited edition piece, you will have to sign up with MR PORTER here.
