While The Oberoi Rajvilas isn’t exactly located within Jaipur, it is situated right outside the city which could be a respite to some who prefer the quietness. It’s also another former fort, which was restored by a Singaporean design firm. The design is opulent without being too garish, and service at The Oberoi Rajvilas is said to be meticulous.

Suján Rajmahal Palace

Exclusivity is a main feature of the Suján Rajmahal Palace, as there are only 14 sprawling rooms within the small palace. It carries an Art Deco style and is owned by Jaipur’s royal family. It was previously a British residency and the Queen and Prince Philip have stayed in the building back in the 60s. Since its refurbishment and reopening in 2015, the Suján Rajmahal Palace boasts a resplendent modern interior.

Rambagh Palace

Get the full luxury experience at Rambagh Palace: it is a place steeped in history and royalty, having been a former hunting lodge and royal residence. The Maharaja of Jaipur after all, once called this place home. All rooms have exquisite antiques, peacocks stroll the lawn, and you can even chance a game of croquet here. There are 78 rooms and 33 suites to pick from, and each guest will have to participate in a candle-lighting ceremony every evening.

Samode Haveli

If it’s not a former royal residence, it’s definitely owned by an aristocratic family. The Samode Haveli is one such and although it’s called a haveli (a traditional townhouse in India), it is in reality, a sprawling mansion with 39 rooms decorated in classic Rajasthani style. It’s a beautiful residence with a gorgeous 20-metre pool, and at night, the place is lit up by oil lamps.
