On 17 October, we celebrated the launch of The Standard Huruvalhi Maldives, The Standard’s first island escape in Asia at Siri House. There was a sumptuous spread of Maldivian flavours at the outdoor teepee seafood grill, co-created by Chef Ming from Jam at Siri House and Chef Chris Pentzlin from The Standard, Maldives. The dishes included a spread of succulent spicy prawns and crowd favourite Chicken in a Biscuit.

Brooklyn-based artist Rostarr headlined the event with a live art performance together with a sound-enabled projection by Mojoko onto a jungle canvas. Rostarr is part of The Standard’s original family of curated artists and will also be creating new art for The Standard, Maldives later this year. Guests were treated to a body art station by Lovage and brought home customised tote-bags to remember the night by. The other highlight of the night? A lucky draw for a three-night stay at The Standard, Maldives.
