Accommodating to alternative diets has burgeoned in the local food scene. The launch of the plant-based Beyond Burger and Impossible Burger at restaurants here, alongside the debut of the ketogenic bakery, Seriously Keto, are just a handful of latest options that help cater to those eating out with dietary restrictions. Joining the fray are the Ketoburgers, an entirely ketogenic burger for devotees of the low-carb, high-fat diet.
The Ketoburgers are a collaboration between Seriously Keto and The Butcher’s Kitchen in Suntec City. As a first for Singapore, The Butcher’s Kitchen will debut four different variations of the sugar-free, gluten-free and low carb burger, completely designed to keep you in ketosis even as you indulge.
The sauce, patty and bun are all created from ketogenic recipes, with the bread being a Seriously Keto recipe, made with almond flour and egg whites. Diners will be able to choose from beef, chicken, pork belly and pork Ketoburgers.
For those unaware, the ketogenic diet has been one of the most popular dietary movements in the past two years. Focused on keeping the body in ketosis, a state where your body generates alternative fuel for its functions rather than using glucose, this diet has been widely lauded for its weight loss benefits. It’s a rather restrictive diet, especially in a high-carb Asian nation like Singapore, so having the option of the Ketoburgers on the market brings some relief to practitioners should they wish to eat out.
