In a move designed to remove the distinction between formal and comfort-drive footwear, Italian label Salvatore Ferragamo recently introduced its newest line of men’s shoes: the Hybrid. As the name suggests, this unique range features both progressive elegance and profound comfort that combines the best of both worlds in shoe designs.
What does that mean in effect? It means that in an innovative step forward, literally, men will no longer be forced to choose style over ease, or the other way around, anymore.
“With Hybrid there is no need to sacrifice either the versatility and flexibility of sneakers or the formality and heritage of bench-made traditional men’s shoes,” said Paul Andrew, creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo. “That’s because our inaugural Hybrid styles combine the best of both shoe families to create a new upgrade on both.”
Two distinct styles form the basis of this latest line. The first features traditional-leaning upper templates, with rope-edged, ultra-flexible synthetic rubber soles. Customers can choose between two eye-catching combinations of colours — a deep red sole against a black upper, or a black sole with a rich burgundy upper. Either way, the wearer is sure to make a fashion statement with panache.
The second style within the Hybrid line comprises an attention-grabbing silhouette represented by the substantial foundation of a moulded and modular articulated wedge heel. Upon this sleek, sculptural base rests a choice of three upper variations: a minimally decorated black derby, a Ferragamo-strap supported slip-on, and a strap-fastened derby with a Ferragamo logo.
So what are you waiting for? Ditch the traditional norms of formal and informal, and get stepping with the Hybrid.
