Cruises offer a holiday away from clichéd tourist spots, a place not just to unwind but to also regain a state of mindfulness while travelling on the sea. Travellers planning to head to Vietnam can now enjoy a voyage of wellness while cruising down the limestone seascape of the Gulf of Tonkin with the new cruise established by Heritage Line.
One of Asia’s leading boutique cruise operators, Heritage Line, has launched its first wellness-focused voyage to Lan Ha Bay in Vietnam. Ylang is the latest member of Heritage Line’s ship collection in Lan Ha Bay, featuring a lavish blend of Asian-Vietnamese design with French colonial accents. This boat explores Lan Ha Bay, which is just south of the more frequented destination, Halong Bay.
The uncharted waters of Lan Ha Bay have a more isolated appeal, given the lack of boat traffic. Under Ylang’s three-day two-night voyage named Senses of Lan Ha, guests can look forward to visiting beautiful white sand beaches as some of the pitstops.
Ylang only has an exclusive number of ten spacious suites on two decks, making this a truly private and personal experience. Here, all suites come with a private balcony, in-room lounge area, and a spacious bathroom for a relaxing stay. On top of that, Ylang focuses on the theme of wellness, which explains its luxurious spa with a full range of treatments to choose from. It offers three private spa rooms, reflexology treatments, a sauna, a steam bath as well as a wellness studio. Its treatments will leave you feeling fully pampered as it uses premium organic spa products from French cosmetics brand, Thalgo.
The Lan Ha voyage’s specially curated itinerary keeps the wellness thread running throughout. Held on the upper deck of the vessel, it’s holistic approach extends to its onboard activities such as singing bowl meditation and morning tai chi lessons. It also spans to offshore expeditions during the trip — from hiking, cycling on Cat Ba Island to kayaking on the bay’s emerald waters.
“Lan Ha Bay is a very special place,”said Andreas Schroetter, Director of Sales and Marketing at Heritage Line. “It’s every bit as beautiful as Halong Bay, but the peace, quiet and isolation makes it more of an exclusive and relaxing destination. That’s why we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to tailor Ylang specifically to the wellness market.”
